Rejoice: Follow Your Dreams

01

THE CHALLENGE

Rejoice had built its whole identity around smooth hair. But “smooth” as a functional benefit felt passive and dated to a generation facing real social pressure.

02

THE INSIGHT

In China, the path to your dreams almost always runs through your parents’ approval. For young women especially, the tension between ambition and family expectation is real and constant, and it’s rarely resolved by fighting back. Over a million Chinese girls had given up a dream in the past year, often for their parents’ wishes.

03

WHAT WE DID

We realised smooth isn’t passive. Water doesn’t fight obstacles, it flows around them. So we turned Rejoice’s core equity from a hair benefit into a life philosophy: don’t confront, flow. We chose Father’s Day deliberately, not as a sentimental occasion but as a provocation that put the tension centre stage, with a film and a puzzle gift box that started the conversation at home.

04

THE IMPACT

234M+ impressions, 68.8M video views, 1.85M engagements, and a 400%+ lift in Rejoice’s social index.

LIMITED EDITION GIFT BOX

To extend the idea into something tactile, we designed a limited edition gift box with a magnetic tile puzzle. The message starts as a dismissal — the kind a parent might say. Rearranging the tiles converts it into an affirmation. The box only opens once you do.
